Hi there!

I think receiving recipe packets is an awesome perk of being a compassionate cooks member, but what would be even *more* awesome would be if we could choose our own recipe packets. For example, I already know how to cook a lot of the Mediterranean dishes in one of the packets I received, but I don't have a lot of ideas for Thanksgiving, so I would have preferred Thanksgiving recipes. I will probably buy the other recipe packets anyway, but there are some I will find more useful than others. I realize that administratively this might be more taxing...but it would be cool!

I agree.  I was given a recipe packet that I purchased almost 2 years ago.

Thanks, as always, for your suggestions. It's true - it's not trivial to let members pick the packets, but we'll look into it.

What concerns me is that you said you rec'd a pack you purchased two years ago. That's not possible. I created all new packets just for members and will also be creating new ones for 2010. Which packets did you receive?

It was the one with the sour cream and guacamole recipes.  I could very well be wrong about the time frame of when I bought it.  I have a cookout one too so maybe that was two years ago...?  Not sure, but the recipe packet that came with my membership and one I bought (whenever it was) appear identical.  It's not a big deal though.  I didn't become a member for the recipes.  I became a member to support your work.  I was just putting in my two cents that it would have been nice to choose so things like that don't happen.  They are good recipes and I'll still be a member in the future!

Thanks, Carrie. I really appreciate that. Nonetheless, we're looking into having members choose. It's just something David has to try building in between work, etc. But we'll figure it out. Thanks for the suggestions both of you.
